Our Roles
- As the Legal Adviser to the University (Article 35 of Constitution);
- Managing the discipline of staff and students, and as a central place for clearance of compoundable offences;
- As Secretariat for the Disciplinary Authority (staff and students);
- Liaising between the University and external lawyers for litigation cases;
- Drafting and vetting legal documents involving the University;
- Assisting in the drafting, vetting and amending of IIUM Constitution;
- Managing debt recovery;
- Managing breach of contract i.e. scholarship agreement, premature notice of resignation, overpayment of salary / allowances etc;
- Managing integrity matters of the University;
- Legal transactions relating to land matters such as transfer leases and tenancies.
