Academic Quality Assurance Regulation (AQAR)

AQAR 2025 was originally endorsed in the 519th Senate Meeting dated 21st March 2025 and been used as a reference for the development, monitoring and review stages of academic programmes in IIUM. Subsequently, an updated version of AQAR 2025 was endorsed in the 526th Senate Meeting dated 24th October 2025.

SWA Guidelines

In 2017, IIUM was granted the self-accreditation status. With the status, the University has to ensure that the accreditation processes are in accordance with the rules and regulations set by the Malaysia Qualification Agency (MQA). Since then, the Office of Knowledge for Change and Advancement (KCA) has established and updated related academic processes to ensure that the standards and requirements set by MQA are fulfilled.

This guidelines has been endorsed in 500th Senate Meeting dated 23rd June 2023. It is to be noted that the guideline will continue to be updated following any future trends or changes. Any future changes in the guideline will be notified to all CoS in the relevant meeting.

Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Framework

This framework has been endorsed in 526th Senate Meeting dated 24th October 2025. The framework focuses on what students are expected to achieve upon graduation by aligning the curriculum, teaching, and assessment with clearly defined learning outcomes.
