- IIUM Disability Endowment Fund was established in 2013
- Organized the first IIUM Disability Grand Awareness Campaign on 6-7 March 2014, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development
- Disability Liaison Officers were first appointed in August 2014
- IIUM Disability Inclusive Policy was approved on 3rd June 2015
- Received donation for a new accessible van for wheelchair users from Lembaga Zakat Selangor
- Improvements in facilities and services for disabled students and staff such as: – Better accessibility at the mosque and around campus (e.g. more accessible rooms at students’ hostels, more designated disabled parking, more ramps and connectivity between buildings) – Special library services
- Established 2 University Level Awards for Convocation Ceremony: – Abdullah Ibnu Ummi Maktum Special Achievement Award (Academic) For Student With Special Needs – Amru Ibnu Al-Jamuh Special Achievement Award (Co-curriculum) For Student With Special Needs
- Close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Women, Family & Community Development, Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia and other ministries
- Launching of the IIUM Disability Inclusion Policy on 15 November 2018 by the Minister of Education Malaysia
- Launching of the Guidelines on the Implementation of Disability Inclusion Policy in Institutions of Higher Learning on 5th September 2019 by the Minister of Education Malaysia
