Background

The office was established back in 1983 and the following individuals served as Deputy Rectors in charge of student affairs :

2. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Sidek Baba (1/8/1994 – 31/7/2002
3. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Daud Bakar (1st October 2002 – 1st April 2005)
4. Dato’ Hamidon Abd. Hamid (1st April 2005 – 31st March 2009)
5. Prof. Dr. Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmud (1st July 2009 – 20th June 2012)
6. Prof. Datuk Dr. Mizan Hitam (1st September 2012 – 31st August 2017)
7. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shamsul Jamili Yeob (1st September 2017 – 31st August 2018)
8. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zulkifli Hasan (1st October 2018 – 30th September 2022)
9. Prof. Dr. Akmal Khuzairy Abd. Rahman (1st October 2022 – 31st October 2024)
10. Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mohamad Fauzan Noordin (1st November 2024 – present)

Two dedicated units report directly to the Deputy Rector for Student Development and Community Engagement which are Disability Services Unit and Uniform Bodies Unit.
