The Counselling and Career Services Department (CCSD) was established with important purposes for the International Islamic University Malaysia. Its establishment was essential in realizing the vision and mission of the university in enhancing the development of students’ potential so as to enable them to excel as individuals and as Muslims with a strong sense of responsibility toward oneself and society. There are three units under this department which are:
Counselling and Guidance Unit
Provides emotional and psychological support to students, crisis intervention, and life skills development to promote wellbeing, resilience, and self-awareness.
Career and Counselling Unit
Focuses on students’ professional development, providing career guidance, assessments, workshops, and opportunities to connect with employers to prepare students for internships and future employment.
Residential and Counselling Unit
Supports students living on campus by fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive residential environment, promoting social development, community engagement, and the overall adjustment of students to campus life.
OBJECTIVES
Counselling and Career Services Department is to render professional counselling and career services in achieving the University’s Vision and Mission. Therefore, our objectives are:
- To assist students in managing personal challenges and career planning through various programmes.
- To help students identify their goal and personal goal.
- To provide opportunity for students to build network with employers through various programmes such as career fair, on campus interview and career talk.
- To help students in making decisions in personal and career matters.
- To give awareness on the importance of acquiring skills and knowledge for future career and life.

- Counselling and Guidance Unit
In this unit, we offer various counselling services in academic, personal and peer matters, besides extending our services that focuses on self-development and emotional well-being activities.
Programmes available such as:
- Motivational Programme
- Emotional Well-Being Programme
- Peers Enhancement Talk
- Sharing Moment
- Counselling Workshops and Seminar
- Career and Counselling Unit
In this unit, we offer various counselling services in career related matters that focus on the students’ future pathway and preparations towards it besides engaging with the related industries for students’ exposure.

- Career Talk
- Career Booster & Career Zoomers
- Mentorship Programme
- On Campus Interview
- Workplace Ready Series
- Residential and Counselling Unit
In this unit, we offer various counselling services by expanding psychosocial support at
Mahallah level, besides synergizing services between counseling and Mahallah to enhance
Psychological well-being of students at Mahallah level.
Programmes available such as:
- Mental Health Awareness Programme.
- Emotional Well-Being Programme.
- Training for Mahallah Principal & Fellow.
- Psychological First Aid (PFA).
- Prevention Programme.
