How long does the renewal student visa last for ?
Students applying for renewal will be issued with a student pass with a maximum duration of 12 months. To avoid overstaying upon the lapse of your student pass, it is recommended that the student pass renewal application be submitted (together with all required documents) no later than 1 month from the student pass expiry date.
What is the Processing time for the Renewal ?
The entire processing time takes about 3-4 weeks. Do check with your institution’s international student office and EMGS tracking system for more information.

All student that has student visa is eligilble to apply for renewal the student visa.

Step to make Application Renewal (IM55U)

Please prepared all the required document in PDF file format.
Create a public google drive folder with the name “Submission 3529″ under student google account
Please make the online application for Renewal Student Visa here
Once submit the application, student will receive automatic email regarding the successful on making the Renewal Student Visa Application.
Officers will takes 3 – 5 working days for checking the document, any additional document needed, officer will email directly to student under the email that student given during making the Renewal Application.

Step to Submit Passport for Renewal (IM55U)

After making Application, please check the EMGS tracking system for 90% status to submit the passport.
Create a ticket at io-iium.my and attach the certification letter, expected to graduate letter and Insurance Cover Note.
Please choose Passport Progress for the help topic at io-iium.my
Process for the stamping issue of student pass is min 3 – 4 weeks.
International Office (Visa Unit) will email student to collect the passport with the student pass.
