IIUM left me in awe right on the first impression as the campus is quite magnificent! As days go by, I learn that IIUM offers a variety of courses and how well diverse the people here are. Even in this short amount of time, I manage to be close to some of the local students. And for sure, unexpected friendships are the best ones. Memorable experiences I had with them are hiking up the Bukit Guling Ayam, visiting Saujana Beach and even a morning adrenaline rush at Sungai Tua. I can confidently say that the times here were definitely indelible <3

Hi, I am Pierre, French student from ISAT Nevers (France). I spent one semester in IIUM Gombak, Dpt Mechanical Engineering. I chose to study in Malaysia because I wanted to discover another culture and way of living, and I have not been disappointed. My first impression of IIUM and Malaysia was very good, by meeting kind and helpful people such as Liyana and Chyfica. The hot weather and spicy local food probably were the hardest points to accomodate for a French student! Fortunately air conditionner is provided everywhere, and it is possible to find all types of foods on the IIUM campus, as well as in Kuala Lumpur. The possibility to choose our courses at our arrival in Malaysia and the medical screening was very reassuring, as we felt safe and well understood by the teachers and the IIUM administration. The courses provided were clear with entertaining teachers and good teaching infrastructures. Thanks to the nice course scheduling, we had the opportunity to travel during our semester and visit many places in Malaysia! We always felt safe and welcomed everywhere we went. This semester was an unforgettable experience, we want to thank Chyfica and Liyana for their reactivity and their willing to help!

My experience in Malaysia has been incredible. I initially chose to complete an exchange program at IIUM to learn more about the implementation of Shariah Law in Malaysia, however, I've learned far more than that. Through every class, activity, and breath here, I've broadened my perspective of the world and learned more about myself. IIUM cultivated a supportive environment to connect with inspirational individuals and explore the beautiful lands of Malaysia. I'm very grateful for this life-changing opportunity. Alhumdulilah. My hope after completing my IIUM exchange program is simple: the next time I visit the streets of Malaysia, I don't want to be an outsider. Instead, I wish that my relationships fostered here formed a lasting, mutually beneficial legacy.

The past few months I spent in Malaysia have been no less than an incredible window into its diversity, along with the dynamics of its cultures and people. I anticipated that this program held many opportunities for me to grow as a person and sure enough it didn’t disappoint. Being from Indonesia, I thought that the environment wouldn’t be much different seeing as we are close neighbors. To my surprise, upon coming here, I was met with a multitude of novel experiences. It was a short time, but nevertheless IIUM feels like a second home, so new and foreign yet at the same time so welcoming.
