- Collaboration & Partnership
All necessary documents must be submitted to iceo@iium.edu.my. The paperwork will be reviewed during the Memorandum Assessment and Evaluation Committee Meeting and subsequently approved by the University Management Committee Meeting. The meetings are held biweekly.
To finalised the paperwork, the both parties need to discuss for the details of collaboration before submit to IO. The both parties are between the counterpart and champion.
Please refer to the provided link for access to the templates for new collaborations – Visiting IIUM.
- A preliminary version of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), or Student Exchange Agreement (SEA)
- Write up (A written description or summary)
- Planned activities (A detailed plan outlining the proposed activities)
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is a formal agreement or document that is mutually agreed upon and signed by two or more parties to establish collaboration. The MOU outlines the terms, objectives, and general scope of the collaboration without any financial obligations. Typically, an MOU has a standard duration of three years. It should be noted that an MOU is not legally binding. Additionally, in the context of projects under the Research Management Centre, an MOU does not contribute to MYRA points.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) is a formal and legally binding document that is entered into between two or more parties to establish collaboration. The MOA outlines specific programs, projects, or activities and entails financial implications, whether in terms of monetary value or in-kind contributions. Unlike an MOU, an MOA is enforceable by law. It is important to note that an MOA contributes to MYRA points for projects under the Research Management Centre.
A Student Exchange Agreement (SEA) is a specific agreement that stipulates all important terms and conditions relating to student exchange activities between both institutions. This agreement shall facilitate the exchange process between the partner institutions, usually for a specific duration, ranging from a semester to an academic year.
In IIUM, there are 3 coordinators for each MOU/MOA. For international collaboration you may go through Office of International Affairs (IO), for industry collaboration you may go through Office of Industrial Linkages (OIL) and for research collaboration/grant agreement you may go through Research Management Centre (RMC).
If you interested to visit IIUM, please fill up the visit request form in our website and email to iceo@iium.edu.my. The form must be submitting in 14 days before the date of proposed visit. We will inform you once your application is approved through the email.
